Vercel announced virtual models on AI Gateway, per the company's official account.
- Vercel's AI Gateway adds Microsoft's MAI-Image-2.6 and MAI-Image-2.6-Flash for image generation and editing
Microsoft's MAI-Image-2.6 and MAI-Image-2.6-Flash are now available on Vercel AI Gateway, usable through the AI SDK or AI CLI with one API key and no provider account. Both handle photorealistic images, text rendering and targeted edits, accept up to five reference images and output up to 1536 x 1536 pixels; MAI-Image-2.6 is meant for final assets and the Flash version for faster, cheaper iteration.
