Eugenia Kuyda, who founded Replika, launched Wabi for all users on Monday as a personal AI assistant that works like a messenger app, with separate agentic threads for different tasks and goals, TechCrunch reports. Once connected to a user's email, Wabi 2.0 spins up threads and builds custom apps inside them on its own, such as a weight-loss tracker in a health thread or a nearby kids' events app in a family thread. Threads can be shared as group chats, access to personal data such as calendars is scoped to each chat, and everyone in a chat can see when someone's personal information is requested. Wabi, which raised a $20 million pre-seed round last year, is free for now, has not settled on a business model and is in talks to raise more, per TechCrunch.
