- Runway launches Dev plugins for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor
Runway announced Runway Dev plugins for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor: one install connects the coding agent to a Runway Dev account through the Runway Dev MCP and adds Runway’s API-building skills. In Cursor, install with /add-plugin runway-api in Agent chat or from the Cursor Marketplace; no API key is stored in the plugin. Describe the feature you want and the agent builds the Runway API integration in the editor.
- Runway adds Kling 4.0 to its developer API for text-to-video, image-to-video and video edit
Runway's API changelog says Kling 4.0 (kling_4) is available on Runway Dev as of October 23, 2026. It generates 3–30 second videos (default 5) at 720p or 1080p from text, a first frame with optional middle and last frames, image and video references, or a source video, and generations include audio. Without an input video it is billed at 15.7 credits per second at 720p and 23.5 at 1080p; with an input video, 9.4 and 14.1 credits per second on a duration formula. Kling 4.0 is 20% off through November 30, 2026 UTC.

- Runway adds Ideogram 4.5 to its developer API for text-to-image with legible typography
Runway's API changelog says Ideogram 4.5 (ideogram_4_5) is now available on Runway Dev, generating images with legible typography and layout from prompts of up to 10,000 characters, with up to five reference images and one to eight outputs. It supports precise edits and mask-based edits. Quality tiers cost 1, 4, 8 and 25 credits per image.
