- A second German court holds Google liable for false claims in its AI search answers after Google settled the Munich case, per The Decoder
In a decision dated September 24, 2026, the Aachen Regional Court barred Google from spreading three AI Mode answers that falsely tied a local neuroradiology professor to a sexual assault and court proceedings that involved a different former professor. The Decoder reports that Google never pursued its announced appeal of the Munich ruling and settled that case instead. Google can still challenge the Aachen injunction, which is not yet final.

Engineers and maintainers were overwhelmed by invalid, often hallucinated reports, per Tom's Hardware. An update is promised in Q1 2027; meanwhile participants are pointed to Google's other bounty programs. The pause lands as earlier warnings said AI slop was straining bug bounty programs.
