Cognition Devin release notes for Oct 26 merge the Progress and Shell tabs into a single Activity view: one stream of everything Devin did, with search, type filters, and a pinnable details drawer. Rows fold under the user message they respond to, and shell commands list the files they edited inside their card.
- Devin lets users pick a personal default agent mode in Preferences
Cognition Devin release notes add a Default agent setting under Settings > Preferences: choose which Devin mode new web-app sessions use, or follow the org default; starring a mode in the agent picker also sets the default for Slack-started sessions.

- Cognition adds an Efficiency Score, Devin Coach and efficiency-based spend approvals for enterprise Devin users
Cognition introduced three enterprise features for controlling Devin spend. Efficiency Score rates each engineer's recent Devin usage from 0 to 100 based on the productive engineering hours Devin estimates per unit of spend, and Devin Coach flags problems in a prompt before it runs, such as a vague request or an expensive mode for a simple task. Efficiency-based approvals raise limits automatically for engineers with a Healthy or Satisfactory grade, up to a ceiling the admin sets, while other engineers' requests go to an admin for review.
- Cognition makes Devin Oncall available to all organizations
Cognition first launched Devin Oncall on Oct. 15, and its Oct. 19 release notes now make it available to all organizations. Oncall responders watch Slack or Microsoft Teams channels and PagerDuty incidents, triage new alerts, bug reports and support requests, and investigate them with an organization's telemetry tools, code, deployments and runbooks to post a likely root cause and recommended next actions. The release notes also add a rules editor for Devin Review, a one-off "Review now" option for unreviewed commits, and CI status checks for commits, branches and tags on GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps and Bitbucket.
- Cognition's Devin adds multiple side chats per message, editable queued messages and GitLab /devin commands
Cognition's October 16 Devin release notes let a message that already has a side chat start more, with a menu of its threads. Queued messages can now be sent, edited, removed or reordered after Devin stops or a session sleeps, Cmd+K search includes archived sessions, and opening a browser preview restarts a sleeping session's servers. /devin review and /devin prompt comments now work on GitLab merge requests, Devin Review shows merge readiness for Bitbucket Cloud pull requests, and Devin gets built-in tools to list and search pull requests across GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Gerrit and Perforce Swarm and to manage GitHub issues, labels, assignees and branch protection.
- Cognition launches Devin Oncall to investigate production alerts and bugs automatically
Cognition introduced Devin Oncall, which automatically investigates alerts and bugs to help teams diagnose and resolve production incidents. Cognition says the feature already handles thousands of alerts a day for some of the world's largest companies.
- Cognition gives Devin memory across sessions, refined nightly through dreaming
Cognition's Devin release notes say Devin now remembers what it learns about each user and their work across sessions. Memory is personal and not shared with the organization; users can review its files and turn it on or off in Settings, and each night Devin reviews recent sessions to refine what it remembers. Org admins can turn memory on or off, and enterprise admins can force it for every organization.
