Hugging Face libraries now run natively on AWS Trainium through TorchNeuron, which enters public beta Oct. 20

Hugging Face says Transformers, Diffusers, Accelerate, PEFT, TRL and Kernels now support TorchNeuron, a PyTorch plugin from AWS that adds Trainium as a native device with eager execution, torch.compile and PyTorch's distributed APIs such as FSDP and tensor parallelism. TorchNeuron becomes a public beta on Oct. 20, installable with pip install torch-neuronx. Hugging Face says 89% of the top 100 most-used text-generation architectures work out of the box, compared with 46% under Optimum Neuron v0.4.5, and it now recommends that Neuron users use its libraries directly instead of Optimum Neuron.
