As of Oct 6, Sierra and Meta announced Personal Agent Protocol with partners including Shopify, Stripe and Walmart (v0.1 spec due this month), while Decagon open-sourced PACT with Instinct and joined the Personal Agent Protocol working group.
Sierra and Meta are developing Personal Agent Protocol, an open standard for how personal agents discover, sign in to and act with businesses, with Genesys, Instinct, Rocket, Shopify, Stripe and Walmart as partners. Consumers decide what access their agents get, and companies set what agents may do through their websites, APIs or their own agents. Sierra plans to publish a v0.1 specification and a reference implementation later this month.
Decagon open-sourced the Personal Agent Consent & Trust Protocol (PACT), co-developed with Instinct. Built on Agent2Agent and OAuth 2.0, it lets a business verify whom a personal agent represents and which actions the customer approved. PACT is a separate specification from Personal Agent Protocol, though Decagon says it is joining that working group. Decagon also introduced a Personal Agent Gateway for detecting and routing agent traffic.
