LightOn releases LightOnOCR-3, a family of lightweight end-to-end OCR models led by a 4B model

LightOn released the LightOnOCR-3 family of end-to-end OCR models in 0.8B, 1B and 4B sizes, with the 4B model recommended for most OCR tasks. Beyond full-page transcription, the models add a grounding mode that returns labeled bounding boxes for every block, short image descriptions, and data tables extracted from charts. The 0.8B and 4B models use the Qwen3.5 vision-language architecture, and all are released under Apache 2.0.
