As of Oct 6, 2026, DeepSeek is close to raising at least $12 billion from investors including CATL and Tencent, with an IPO targeted for early 2027, per Bloomberg.
DeepSeek is close to raising at least $12 billion in a new funding round and the total could approach $15 billion, Bloomberg reports, up from an original target of about $7.5 billion at a roughly $75 billion valuation. Battery maker CATL and Tencent are contributing the largest shares. The round was driven by interest in the V4-Flash model, and after it closes DeepSeek plans to restructure for an IPO in early 2027 while building a data center with at least 160,000 Huawei AI chips. The company closed its first external round in June at about $7.4 billion with a valuation above $50 billion, and founder Liang Wenfeng intends to keep releasing open-weight models.
