Matthew Schwartz's BootLoops toolkit lets LLMs carry exact methods into 22 scientific fields

BootLoops published this on Oct 12, 2026 (source: bootloops.ai).

BootLoops, an open-source toolkit by Harvard physicist Matthew Schwartz, pools exact-computation programs from particle physics, mathematics and computer algebra so an agentic LLM can apply them in other fields, from ecology and genomics to linguistics and climate science. Over about three months it contributed to 36 manuscripts with 19 coauthors from roughly 400 candidate problems; Science covered the project, and some manuscripts are still marked preliminary pending human checks.
