Unconfirmed
TechCrunch reports Apple told developers it is tightening App Store rules so dating apps and AI companions that offer sexual or romantic content must carry an 18+ rating, with new content descriptors required starting November 16, 2026. The piece links the change to Apple’s broader minor-protection work (age assurance, parental controls) and notes impact on companion apps such as Character.AI and Replika; apps that share a user’s real-world location with others must also declare that. Primary Apple developer announcement beyond TechCrunch was not re-opened in this run.
